San Pedro Cactus | Echinopsis pachanoi | Trichocereus pachanoi
An absolutely essential part of any cactus garden or landscape! This robust plant is easy to maintain, propagate and grow in your home or garden.
Sold per piece, Bare Root without any soil or pot. Small scarring is normal and expected but will not affect plant. Discoloration on the bottom of the cactus is normal from being planted in soil.
This cactus is considered the PC (Predominant Cultivar) variety of San Pedro Cactus in the United States. This means it’s the most common type of San Pedro Cactus cultivated for ornamental use. It is sometimes referred to as Pachanot or a San Pedro Hybrid. Regardless, there will be absolutely no refunds or cancellations allowed once your order has shipped. Understand which cultivar you are ordering before you order.

Sizes are approximate and typically get thicker as the sizes increase:
- Small - 8-12 inches
- Medium - 12-16 inches

The cutting of San Pedro I received was just 12" though I ordered a 12 to 16 ". It was supposed to be a non-cultivar Trichocereus Pachanoi, but looks like a hybrid (Peruvian Torch?) to me. It has longer spines than any San Pedro that I have looked at in botanical reports on Trichocereus. I do collect a variety of them and know the difference.

I ordered two medium cuttings. Be sure to order a heat pack during the winter. I wasn't aware of this which delayed shipping. As soon as I added a heat pack, the cuttings were quickly shipped out. I received them in about three days. I was surprised at the size of the cuttings. They are very large and robust. I transplanted them into very dry greenhouse mix. I am a vegetable gardener so I feel an urge to water them but I watched one of their videos that recommends leaving them alone for 2 months.

Beautiful cutting! I filled a hole with about 12 inches of crystal kitty litter, embedded the cutting, and then covered the top inch or so with compost and yard soil/leaves. I resisted the urge to water, although rain will eventually fall. (Crystal kitty litter--microporous silica pellets-- absorbs up to 30 times its weight of water, so hopefully this will be sufficient for this cactus to grow in a healthy way in a warm and wet climate.) So far, so good!

Got my cactus chilling under the indoor lights and I love it! Was packaged very well and is looking cool. The only thing I would recommend is to open the package with a good pair of outdoor gloves.
